In Loving Memory of

Joseph Lobeto, Jr.

Born in Havan, Cuba on March 9, 1953 to Carmita and Jose Lobeto.

Joe’s parents sent him alone to the United States in hopes of securing a better life for the Lobeto Family.

Arriving in Miami, Florida on December 3, 1961, eight-year-old Joe bravely survived until his father could join him. In February 1962, his father arrived in the United States, and soon after, Joe’s sister and mother arrived as well.

The Lobetos traveled across the country and eventually landed in Arcadia, California. Located about 20 miles from downtown Los Angeles, Arcadia was a beautiful community with Craftsman and ranch-style homes, surrounding the popular Santa Anita Race Track.

Joe attended Arcadia High School, and graduated from LA Trade Technical College. He went on to have a successful career with the Southern California Gas Company.

Joe married Gayleen Lobeto on August 28, 1982. They raised three beautiful and successful girls, Kassandra, Krystal, and Karina. Joe was a grandfather to six grandchildren.

Unexpectedly, Joe died on Saturday, January 22, 2022, in Arcadia.

His rosary will be on Friday, February 25, 2022, at 6 pm at Rose Hills Memorial Park at 3890 Workman Mill Road in Whittier, CA. The location inside the park is the Hua Yuan: Hall of Grace.

Joe’s funeral will be at Rose Hills Memorial Park, on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 11 am, at the Sky Rose Chapel.

The graveside burial service will be at 12 pm at the Garden of Meditation.

Following the services, there will be a Celebration of Life Luncheon and Reception at 1:30 pm at 1538 South Fifth Avenue in Monrovia.
